In 1974 Gerard van der Vaart decided to start for himself after years of experience in the port of Rotterdam, the first 10 years van der Vaart B.V. was characterized by the expedition that was done from France to the Netherlands.

When both sons Sander and Walter joined the company in 1984, the first cold and freeze cell was opened. Due to the economic growth, Van der Vaart B.V. quickly became too small, and as a result began to expand in the field of conditioned storage.

Over the years, the cooling/freezing cells have been rebuilt/renewed several times. The company has been expanded to a total of 9 cooling and freezing cells with a total of +/- 15,000 pallet places and 60,000 m3. Through years of experience, the company has become known in our region as it is now known: a trusted supplier of handling and handling in the refrigeration and freezing sector.

Meanwhile, the third generation is already working within the company. The knowledge about cold stores and entrepreneurship in the broadest sense are therefore poured in with the spoon. That the involvement is high, you will notice this at the first contact.

Van der Vaart B.V. is supervised by the government agency NVWA “Food and Goods Authority” partly because of this we comply with the very strict guidelines and legislation. Quality, hygiene and food safety are the most important points within Van der Vaart B.V when it comes to storing your products and/or goods. Van der Vaart B.V. therefore does everything possible to continuously guarantee the quality of the products. Our company is thoroughly scrutinised at least once a year by the NVWA to see if we meet all the requirements.
